Abstract：With China’s rising international status and the increase in cultural exchange among countries, the role of English has always been further strengthened, English has become a main communication language in China’s external exchanges with other countries. Nowadays, domestic colleges have more focused on students’ oral English learning. College Student’s English Speech Contest is a good platform which can test students’ oral English learning achievements and arouse their interests in oral English learning. It also plays a very important role in improving the students’ comprehensive abilities in English. This paper takes 2009 CCTV Cup English Speaking Contest as the research background, discussing body language such as gestures, eye contacts and facial expressions on the basis of multimodal discourse analysis. Therefore, through multimodal discourse analysis, this paper aims at emphasizing the importance of body language in College Students’ English Speech Contest and solving some existing problems during using body language.

摘要：随着中国在国际上的地位不断上升和国际文化交流的日益深化，英语的地位日渐显赫。英语成为了中国对外交流中主要的交际语言，而国内高校近些年也更加关注大学生的英语口语的学习。大学生英语演讲比赛是一个很好的平台，它可以检验大学生英语口语学习,而且可以激发他们对英语口语的学习兴趣，对于提高大学生的英语综合水平。本文以“2009CCTV杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛为研究背景，从多模态话语分析的角度出发，分析大学生英语演讲比赛中的肢体语言，其中包括手势，目光交流，面部表情等。通过对肢体语言的多模态话语分析，本文旨在强调肢体语言在演讲比赛中的重要性，并对其存在的问题提出相关性的建议。
