Abstract

Rock’n’ roll has been struggling for freedom since its birth. During oppressions and resistances, the concept of freedom and spirit of rock’n’ roll has spread over the world and influenced generations of teenagers. Rock’n’ roll in China has become a special cultural symbol. Recently, researches on rock’n’ roll increased a lot in the world, for example, The Wild Blooming of Wound Flowers by Hao Fang, and it is found that rock’n’ roll is more than a genre of music, also a subject related to sociology, philosophy and psychology closely.
This paper focuses on the concept of freedom reflected in rock’n’ roll during the golden age of rock’n’ roll from the 1960s through the 1980s. It analyzes how rock’n’ roll makes people free, and what kind of freedom it brings to people through the definition, history and oppressions of rock’n’ roll. And it mainly helps people objectively judge rock’n’ roll based on facts instead of misunderstanding. This paper is organized as follows: Part One introduces the definitions and genres of rock’n’ roll. Part Two presents the brief history of rock’n’ roll from its birth through the 1980s. Part Three analyzes the rock music events，and the spirit hiding behind them, which developed freedom and struggle in rock’n’ roll.

摘  要

摇滚自诞生起便不断地为自由而斗争。在压迫和反抗中，摇滚乐中的自由观念和摇滚精神在全世界得到了广泛的传播，影响了一代又一代的青年。在中国，摇滚乐已成为了一个具有中国特色的文化标志。近年来，国内外关于摇滚乐的研究也渐渐增加，例如中国作家郝舫编著的《伤花怒放》。人们发现摇滚乐不仅是一种音乐类型，更是一个与社会学、哲学和心理学联系紧密的学科。
本文主要探索在二十世纪六十年代到八十年代——摇滚的黄金时期，摇滚所反映的自由观念。通过对摇滚乐的定义、历史和所受的压迫来分析摇滚乐是如何让人们自由的，以及它所解放的是哪种自由。本文意在让人们客观地依据事实评价摇滚，解除摇滚乐所受的误解。本文共有三部分，第一部分了解摇滚的定义和分类；第二部分纵观摇滚从诞生到二十世纪八十年代的简史；第三部分研究摇滚大事件，探索事件背后坚持自由和斗争的摇滚精神。
