Abstract

Black humor which is an American modernist literary genre was produced in the 1960s. As an important literary device, black humor used first in western literature and later spread all over the world.
The movie Catch-22 is a great American black humor film, because this movie presented an irrational and addle world, and shaped many insane characters. A large number of researchers focus their attention on black humor in the novel Catch-22, but very few people study black humor on the movie Catch-22. Accordingly this thesis is a brief analysis of black humor in the movie Catch-22. In this paper, by analyzing the use of exaggerated deformation technique of black humor in the movie, the author tries to find out how black humor ridicule and castigate the dark social reality, aiming to summarize how black humor present reader a real and vivid world.
Apart from introduction and conclusion, this thesis is including three major parts. The first section briefly introduces the author Joseph Heller and his main works, aiming to provide readers with background knowledge, and lay the foundation of black humor as explained later. The second part introduces the definition of black humor, origin and development of the black humor, as well as the characteristics of black humor. The third part is the main part of the paper, discussing black humor reflected on the theme, language and characters.

摘  要

黑色幽默产生于20世纪60年代，是美国的一个现代主义文学流派。作为一种重要创作手法，黑色幽默首先出现于西方文坛，继而传遍全世界。
电影《第二十二条军规》是一部很精彩的美国电影，它向观众呈现了一个不合逻辑的、无序的世界，同时它还塑造了无数个疯狂的人物角色。虽然大多数学者致力于研究小说《第二十二条军规》中的黑色幽默，但是关于电影《第二十二条军规》中的黑色幽默的研究却是极少的。本文就是在这样的背景下，浅析电影《第二十二条军规》中的黑色幽默。本论文通过分析黑色幽默夸张变形的手法在电影《第二十二条军规》中的运用，探析黑色幽默如何对社会现实的黑暗进行嘲讽和鞭挞，旨在总结黑色幽默如何为读者呈现一个生动真实的世界。
除了引言和结语，本论文主要分为三个部分。第一部分简单介绍作者约瑟夫•海勒及其主要作品，为读者提供了知识背景，并为后文黑色幽默的阐述奠定基础。第二部分主要阐述了黑色幽默的定义，起源，发展，及其特征。第三部分是文章的主要部分，详细探讨了电影《第二十二条军规》中黑色幽默手法在主题、语言和人物上的体现。
