Abstract

Language is just like a mirror. It can reflect a lot of questions in social life. Appellation, as an important aspect of language, it has close relationship with the discrimination. Especially, in Chinese and English, sex discrimination of appellation is so widespread that it has serious influence on woman’s job and life. This paper chooses appellation of the Chinese and English as the entry point, exploring the sex discrimination of the Chinese and English appellation. The paper analyzes the reasons of sex discrimination of the Chinese and English appellation and comes up with the suggestions about solving the questions. The author hopes that the paper can gradually make people pay attention to the seriousness of the sex discrimination and initiatively take some related measures to eliminate the phenomenon of sex discrimination.
The paper consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, it has a brief introduction of appellation and sex discrimination. The second chapter analyzes the major performance of sex discrimination of the Chinese and English appellation. The third discusses the reasons of causing the phenomenon. Last but not least, the paper puts forward to some related suggestions of eliminating sex discrimination of the Chinese and English appellation in order to achieve the real equality between man and women.

摘  要

    语言像一面镜子，它反映出社会生活中存在的许多问题。而称谓语作为语言的一个重要方面，它与歧视现象有着密切的联系。特别是在汉语与英语中，称谓语存在非常严重的性别歧视现象，以至于已严重影响到女性的工作和生活。本文以英汉称谓语为切入点，深入探究了英汉称谓语中所存在的性别歧视，分析了造成此类现象的原因，提出了解决此问题的相关建议。作者希望能通过此文使人们逐渐意识到性别歧视问题的严重性并能促使人们主动地采取相应措施去消除性别歧视现象。
本文由四个部分组成。第一章，简要介绍了称谓语和性别歧视现象。第二章，具体阐述了英汉称谓语中性别歧视的主要表现方面。第三章，分析讨论了造成此类现象的原因。最后，为了实现男女真正平等，作者提出了关于解决性别歧视问题的相关建议。
