摘要

在全球化的世界大趋势下，各个国家之间的交流也随之日益频繁。在这种背景下，跨文化交际就成为了一项重要的研究课题。了解中西双方不同的文化背景，对于未来跨文化的交流具有极其深远的意义。除语言、运动、音乐等人们经常探讨的文化外，葬礼文化也是双方生活中都不可忽视的一个文化方面。无论在任何一种文化背景下，人的生与死都是一个严肃而富有哲理的话题，不可不加以研究讨论。而每一种葬礼文化的形成，都包含了独特的历史因素，经过长期的发展和演变，最终以习俗的形式表现出来。
本文意在讨论中西方两种文化背景下不同的葬礼文化，分析和综合现有文献并加以补充。论文首先讨论了中西方葬礼文化的相异之处，然后找出这些差异背后的宗教因素，最后对中西双方葬礼文化的发展趋势进行了探讨。
本文对目前现有的葬礼文化的相关文献进行了必要的整理和补充，为跨文化交际的顺利进行提供参考依据。

Abstract

Under the circumstances of globalization, the communication between different countries and regions is becoming more frequent than ever before. As a consequence, cross-cultural communication has been viewed as a significant research subject. One of the most essential premises of cross-cultural communication is to understand the differences between each part of the world. Apart from the cultural elements that people usually come across with such as language spoken, sports and the music, funeral culture is also an indispensable branch of culture. In whatever social cultures, death of human beings is for all time a solemn and philosophical topic that people would never neglect. The funeral culture of a society is always formed under the influence of its historical factors, and finally presents as specific rituals and beliefs after a rather long period of development and evolvement.
By analyzing and synthesizing the existing literature of the related researches, this thesis discusses the two distinct funeral cultures in most part of China except the ethic sections and in Western countries. First section of the thesis deals with listing of the main differences between Chinese funeral culture and western funeral culture. Second section is based on the analysis of religious factors of the differences. The trend of development of the funeral culture in both branches is discussed in the third section of the thesis. Finally I have concluded my research work in the fourth section of the thesis.
This thesis is completed by the necessary analysis and supplement of some related materials. It provides some reference for cross-cultural communication and brings convenience to the conventional events of people living in a foreign cultural background.
