摘要：

寒暄交谈是一种表示应酬的辅助性语言，它不但具有缩短交际者之间的社会距离和维持人际关系的社会功能，同时也是社会生活和文化的真实反映。人们的寒暄交谈并非意在用来真正交换信息或意见，而是为了创造气氛或保持社交接触。虽然寒暄语传递的信息非常有限，但是它却无时无刻不在发挥着它人际交往润滑剂的重要作用。而在中西方不同的文化和价值观的影响之下，寒暄语呈现出的差异也是显而易见的。本文将从历史文化差异，价值观差异等方面详细阐述中西方寒暄语的差异以及所造成该差异的原因所在,通过大量事例诠释寒暄语在不同语言环境下的不同，使人们能够在日常生活中更加高效准确地利用寒暄语，以增进友谊、达到沟通感情的目的。

Abstract:

As an assistant language, phatic communion can not only shorten the social distance between speakers and maintain people’s social relationship but also reflect the authentic social life and culture. People greet to others mean to create a harmonious atmosphere and maintain the contact, instead of exchanging information or idea. Phatic communion plays an important role as the lubricant when people greet to others, though it has limit information to exchange. Phatic communion shows its obvious distinction under the difference culture and value between Chinese and western countries. This thesis will give a detailed introduction about the difference of phatic communion between Chinese and western countries based on the culture and value difference, and show people how to use phatic communion more efficient and accurate in different situation, so as to promote friendship and communicate feelings.

1. Introduction
Phatic communion is a basic protocol in people’s daily communion. People usually start their communication by greeting each other. Phatic communion is an important way to transfer politeness, though it cannot transfer any information. It can build an harmonious relationship based on people’s social relationship. When we talk to strangers, phatic communion is also useful to start the following communication.
