摘要：

马里奥•普佐是通俗小说的教父。他的代表作《教父》开启了黑帮小说的新时代。这部小说一经出版就轰动了整个美国，并引起了广泛的评论和赞扬，堪称美国出版史上头号畅销小说。小说描写了美国纽约五大黑势力集团之一的维托•考利昂一家采用极端手段，实现了在整个美国黑帮中的独尊地位。《教父》这部小说的独特魅力就在于尽管描写的全是坏蛋，但作者竟然能让读者不痛恨个别坏蛋，而痛恨整个龌龊的社会。
整个小说出现的人物将近一百个，着重刻画的有二十多个，大都是美国那个社会里的“典型环境中的典型人物”。
本文总共分四个部分：第一个部分简单介绍了《教父》的作者以及故事脉络。第二部分为文献综述。第三部分以女性主义视角分析人物形象，分别从三个层次：表层人物分析；人物困境分析；解决人物困境的方法。第四部分是对整篇文章的总结。

Abstract:

Mario Puzo, The Godfather of popular fiction. His masterpiece The Godfather opened a new era to gangster fiction which caused a sensation throughout the United States after published, arousing a wide range of comments and praise and was the United States number one best-selling novel in publishing history. The fiction described one of the five dark forces in New York—the Vito Corleone family using a variety of extreme means to achieve a domination role in the whole community of the United States forces of darkness. The extraordinary artistic charm of this novel is: although the description of all the bad guys, the authors adopted wonderful writing skills that make the reader not hate the individual sinner, but the whole sordid and social structure.
   The characters throughout the novel are nearly one hundred. The author focused on portraying more than twenty, and most of which are the “typical characters in typical environments.”
   There are three part in the paper. The first part offers a brief introduction of the author of the Godfather along with the story context. The second part is the literature review. The third part is to analyze characters in feminist perspective. Respectively, from the three levels: seeming analysis of the characters; analysis of dilemma of character; method to solve the dilemma of character. The fourth part is a summary of the whole essay.
