ABSTRACT
With the development of economic globalization, the international business activities we contact are increasing, and business English correspondence sets up a bridge of communication between the domestic enterprises and overseas companies. There is no doubt that business English correspondence plays an indispensable role in international communication. And the key to writing a good business English correspondence is to master the application of "6 C" principle. 摘 要
随着全球经济化的发展,国际商务活动日益增加,而商务英语信函则为本国企业和外国客户架起了一座沟通的桥梁。毫无疑问,商务英语信函在国际交流中起着不可或缺的作用。而写好一封好的商务英语信函的关键就是要掌握好“6 C”原则的运用。本文将分别从“6 C”即completeness, correctness, concreteness, conciseness, courtesy, clearness六个方面分析其在商务英语信函运用中存在的问题并加以解决。

1.1 Background of the Study
Today business activities set no restrict to any area or locality. Consumption takes place everywhere while production takes place only in one area. Commerce and trade have been used in the whole world, thus it has become impossible for a businessman to have direct conversation with his customers and suppliers. Thus, it is necessary to maintain a proper relationship among them by using some appropriate means of communication. Although there are many other methods of communication just like fax, telex, telephone and so on. Business information can be provided and obtained conveniently and economically through correspondence.
