Abstract

Apology is a kind of speech acts. We use it frequently in our daily life. Within the scope of pragmatics and sociolinguistics, it has always been the target of extensive research. When an offence occurs, the speaker will provide support for the hearer to show his or her regret and only in this way can the relationship between the two sides be restored.
In the meantime, human beings invent the incredible Internet. What Internet brings us is not only a revolution about technology, but also about linguistics. Almost every aspect of our lives has been influenced by the Internet. In this case, the language used by people on the Internet has become popular. As the Internet is catching on，the language appeared on the Internet triggers a fierce discussion. “If the Internet is a revolution, therefore, it is likely to be a new linguistic revolution” (David Crystal, 2001:5). As many more new words and phrases come into our dictionaries, netspeak is becoming increasingly popular both in written and spoken communication. Nowadays, with advertising industry and entertainment turn to the networks, netspeak will be more and more popular in our daily communication.
    This paper mainly investigates and analyzes the speech act of apology. Through the analysis on the data, this paper makes a comparative study on apology strategies used online and in daily life. However, this research is just an exploratory study. The author hopes it will make more scholars pay attention to this challenging field.

道歉是一种言语行为,我们在日常生活中经常用到。在语用学以及社会语言学范畴内，它一直是广泛研究的目标。当冒犯行为发生，说话者会为听着提供面子上的支持，表明自己的悔意，只有这种方式才能恢复两人的关系。
同时，人类发明了因特网。网络不仅带来技术上的革命，也带来文化和语言学上的革命。人们生活各个方面都深受网络的影响。由于人们经常从社会的角度看待网络，因此网络语言引发了激烈的讨论。语言学家克里斯汀说，如果网络是一场革命，那么很可能是一场语言学革命。当今，越来越多的新词汇和短语出现在词典里，网络语言会越来越热门，不管是在书面语中还是在日常交流中。随着广告业以及娱乐业也渐渐进入网络空间，网络语言会在人们交流中越来越流行。
本文侧重调查分析英语道歉言语行为。通过对数据的分析，本文在网络道歉语和日常道歉语方面进行了对比研究。网络语言是一个新鲜的研究话题，网络道歉语对于我们来说是新兴的领域，有着非常丰富的研究价值。然而，此研究只是探究性的。笔者希望本文能使更多的学者对这个具有挑战性的领域进行关注。
