Abstract:

The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American classic film which won best film, best actor and other seven awards nominations. Based on the theme of redemption, this paper mainly talks about Andy’s self-redemption and the connection between Bible and the protagonist. Through the interpretation on Andy’s redemption, this may let people understand the most easily to lose but the important things of human nature. Besides, this film, through the heart-warming story plot, gives people hope. Accurately speaking, it is to let people keep faith and freedom firmly. Andy is the soul of the whole works. He has an innate desire to overcome suffering. He not only saves his own life but also helps others to find happiness by the “redemption”. With his efforts, as a result, he eventually succeeded. The film inspires us to love life and edifies us to think about the importance of self-redemption. It also gives a positive force and the courage to face difficulties to us. We should never lose hope and dignity in anytime.

《肖申克的救赎》是1994年美国一部经典电影，它获得了包括最佳电影，最佳男演员等七项大奖的提名。本文基于“救赎”这一主题，主要讨论安迪的自我救赎及圣经与主人公的关系，并且通过对安迪自我救赎的分析，让人们懂得最重要也是最易丢失的人性。同时，该电影通过暖心的电影情节给人们以希望，准确的来说，是让人们始终拥有信仰和自由。安迪是整部电影的灵魂，他克服了重重困难，通过不懈努力，最终不仅成功获得自我救赎，而且帮助狱友获得幸福。
这部电影不仅鼓励我们要热爱生活，启迪我们对救赎的思考，同时给予我们在面对困难时的正能量和勇气，不论何时都不应该丢掉希望和尊严。

1 Introduction
    The Shawshank Redemption is an American classic film directed by Frank Darabont. The director outdoes himself with the phenomenal adaptation of Stephen King's equally noteworthy novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. This film won the best film best actor and so on seven award nominations of Oscar. The protagonist Andy Dufrense was a successful young banker. He received allegations of injustice because the judge ruled that he murdered his wife and her lover, which actually he did not. Yes, when he found his wife adultery with a baseball coach, he was so angry that he wanted to kill the coach and her wife, in the end, Reason prevailed over emotion. Unfortunately, his wife and her lover died at that night. As a result, he was sent into Shawshank prison. Shawshank seemed to be filled with darkness and danger. Prisoners in the Shawshank---the forgotten corners of this world, they were not people, just animal, and even did not know what hope and freedom mean for them. But Andy never gave up what he insisted on: self -salvation. He asked Red for a little hammer to prepare for escaping from prison.
