摘要：

《飞越疯人院》是美国电影历史上最经典的电影之一，曾获1975年第48届奥斯卡最佳影片，最佳男、女主角，最佳导演和最佳改编剧本五项大奖。片中讲述的是精神病病人反抗精神病院中的不合理制度，情节和主题引人深思。本文通过将结合时代背景对人物进行解析，将论文分为五部分，首先分析了作为救赎者的麦克墨菲，穷其一身都在追寻自由，其次分析了作为遗嘱执行者的酋长，从异化中觉醒，再次是以“大护士”为首的集权统治者，对病人的非人性化管理，最后是其他室友对自由的追寻。

Abstract:
 
The film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is one of the most classic movie, which has won the Best Picture Oscar Award in 1975, best actor, best actress, best director and best adapted screenplay. It tells a story of a group of psychiatric patients who fight against the unreasonable system in the psychiatric hospital and the plot and theme is profound. This paper is based on the analysis of languages, behaviors and mental activities of four kinds of people, and then he will analyze the characters the current background. So the paper is divided into 5 parts. First, he will analyses the redeemer, McMurphy who spends all his life pursuing freedom. Then he is going to show that Chief, as an executor, wakes from the alienation. Moreover, he will analysis the "head nurse"，authoritarian ruler, adopts dehumanization management to the patients and then he deals with other roommates’ pursuit of freedom. The last part comes to conclusion that includes the summary of the theme and restates the purpose, its significance.

1. Introduction
One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest was directed by Dale Wasserman in 1974 and it has achieved great success in the American society. In the film, Randle Patrick McMurphy who has gotten himself transferred to the hospital from a prison, is a loud and laughing Irishman. He challenges the sadistic control of Head Nurse Ratched, who has browbeaten the frightened men into abject docility. Bit by bit, he restores some self-esteem in the men and even stirs the long mute Chief Bromden to talk. And Chief Bromden, an Indian, is a sweeper in the psychopathic ward of a mental hospital.  After sharing confinement for ten years, he and the other inmates are buoyed by the arrival of Randle Patrick McMurphy. Besides, a lot of actions has been took to fight against the suppression from Nurse Mildred Ratched. For example, he calls for cigarettes votes to challenge her, steals a hospital bus and brings his fellows to take deep sea fishing on a commandeered boat. For stirring rebellion, McMurphy is subjected to repeated shock treatment and a lobotomy that reduces him to blank passivity. To carry on the spirit of freedom, Chief then smothers McMurphy and escapes into the outer world.
