神话是人类历史的一个折射，一个记录，它反映了古代人民对于世界的思考和理解，它不仅仅是文化的一个组成部分，并且对文化的形成和发展产生重要的作用和影响，因此通过中国神话与希腊神话的研究对比，可以看到中西方文化差别的根本。女娲和盖亚是中西方神话体系中重要的女神，她们可以被视为中西方女神中的代表，通过分析对比女娲和盖亚这两个女神，我们可以更加清晰的总结出中西方女性差异，这对于中西方女性文化的研究有十分重要的意义。

Abstract:

Myth is a reflecting and record of the human history, which reflects ancient people’s thinking and understanding of the world. On the one hand, myth is one part of one nation’s culture, on the other hand, it plays a great role and has great influence on the culture and its development, therefore, the author can get the most distinctive and remarkable differences between the Chinese culture and the Western culture by carefully study and comparison of the Chinese mythology and Greece mythology. Nuva and Gaia are great goddesses in Chinese and Greece mythology, which can be seen as representatives in Chinese and Western goddesses. So we can clearly study and summarize the differences between the Chinese women and Western women by comparing and analyzing Nuva and Gaia, which is also significant and meaningful in the study of Chinese and Western female and myth culture.

1.    Introduction
Myth is a story from ancient times, especially one that is told to explain natural events or to describe the early history of the people, that is to say, myth is ancient people’s understanding and imagination of some natural and cultural phenomenon, which reflects the nation’s culture and the people’s characteristics where the myth origins, and therefore different nation produces different mythology because of its unique culture and background. On the other hand, to study and research a nation’s myth is quite a good way to get understanding of the nation’s culture and its people. Under this analysis, this thesis will focus on two goddesses Nuva ( a famous Chinese goddess) and Gaia (a Greece goddess) to analyze the differences between the Chinese and western woman.
In Chinese mythology, Nuva is one of the most famous and well-known goddess, and she is regarded as the most popular and long-respected goddess. There are many stories about Nuva. It is said that Nuva creates people out of mud and teaches them many skills to live. She makes many contributions to human society and that is why she is so important in analyzing the Chinese woman.
