Abstract

  With the increasing cross-cultural communications, it is necessary to know the culture of each country comprehensively. However, because of the influence of the geography, the history, the economy and other factors, the culture of China has been quite different from that of the west since ancient times. The culture of marriage is an extensive system of culture, and the marriage customs are a carrier and an important part of the culture of marriage. The differences in marriage customs between China and the west not only show us the differences of the weddings in China and the west, but also reflect their various ideas on the marriage. From the perspective of the marriage customs, this thesis will discuss the differences in contemporary young people’s concepts of marriage between China and the west from four aspects: standards of selecting a spouse, the attitudes toward the family, the relationship between the couple and the attitudes to the procreation, and analyzes the causes of these differences in order that we can better understand and respect the culture in the west, which can promote the cross-cultural communications between China and the west.

    随着跨文化交际日益增多，深入了解各国之间的文化成为一种必然需求。但自古以来，由于地理、历史和经济等因素影响，中西方文化存在很大的差异。婚姻文化是文化的一个分支，婚俗是婚姻文化的载体和重要组成部分。中西方婚俗的差异不仅表现了中西方婚礼的不同，更反映出他们对婚姻的不同看法。本文将以婚俗为角度，从择偶标准、家庭观、夫妻关系以及生育观四个方面展开探讨，解读中西方当代年轻人婚姻观的差异，并且分析造成差异的原因，从而更好地了解和尊重西方的文化，促进中西方跨文化交流。
