Abstract

In the evolution of Chinese and Western cultures, the hero plays a pervasive role. The differences between Chinese and Western culture are not an empty concept, but penetrate all aspects of the daily life. The hero is a typical manifestation of the differences. The modern movies now are not only the visual art, but also the way of cultural transmission and the platform of communication. In the film Iron Man, Tony acts as a role of superhero who saves the whole world, and gives full play to the personal charm, while in the film Red Cliff, the heroes like Zhou Yu, Liu Bei, Guan Yu should have solely acted as the leader of the army, but now all of them work togther and achieve the success of the war. Comparing Iron Man and Red Cliff, this paper analyzes the differences between American individual heroism and Chinese collective heroism from the cultural backgrounds, the definitions of heroism, and the concrete depictions in the movies, and this also reflects the differences between Western and Chinese cultures.

摘要

在中西文化演变轨迹中,英雄扮演着深入人心的角色。中西方文化的差异渗透在日常生活的方方面面，而英雄就是一个差异表现的典型。现代的电影作品不只是一门影视艺术，还是文化的传播途径和交流平台。在《钢铁侠》中，托尼一人充当了拯救世界的超级英雄角色，而在《赤壁》中，周瑜，刘备，关羽等本可独当一面的英雄，最后却都成为战争胜利的集体力量。本文通过具体影片《钢铁侠》、《赤壁》，对比分析中美英雄主义在历史背景、英雄定义以及影片中具体人物刻画的不同，从而体现出中西方文化的差异
