Abstract

People in different countries share diverse points concerning love and marriage which was based on their different cultural backgrounds. Both in China and America, from the two popular TV programs: If You Are the One and Take Me Out, we can feel their different attitudes towards love and marriage obviously. Take Me Out, as an encyclopedia of American culture, it shows us the value of America young people intensively. And in China, If You Are the One, is the reflection of Chinese contemporary thought and culture. When it comes to concept of love, Chinese youth put more emphasis on family and respect tradition, young people are prone to respect parents’ authority, as well as lots of external factors. In contrary, American youth are more open and always avoid interference of external factors.
So this thesis is based on the studies of the TV shows and aims to make simple comparisons of them and then tries to illustrate some differences between two countries, including historical and realistic reasons. In the following passage , I’ll simplify the program “Take Me Out” into “T”,“If you Are the One”into “I”.

摘要

不同国家的人们在基于他们不同的文化背景下对爱情与婚姻总是持有不同爱情与婚姻观念。在中国与美国，从两个家喻户晓的电视节目中：《非诚勿扰》与《Take Me Out》中，我们可以明显的感受到人们对于爱情和婚姻的不同态度，美国的《Take Me Out》集中展现了美国青年的价值与文化，它是一部美国青年文化的百科全书。而在中国，《非诚勿扰》，则折射出了当代青年的思想和文化。当涉及到爱情观的时候，中国青年更加重视家庭，尊重传统；他们尊重父母权威并且考虑很多外在因素。相反，美国青年则更加开放，不受他人和外在因素的干扰。
所以本篇文章是在对两个电视节目研究的基础上，尝试去在两者间进行简单的对比,从节目中男女嘉宾的不同表现出发，从古代和当代不同时期的角度尝试去阐释在两国间的爱情与婚姻的差异,包括不同的价值观,不同的结婚目的，不同的经济发展以及不同的居住环境等等。在下文中，笔者将把《Take Me Out》简化为字母“T”,《非诚勿扰》简化为字母“I”。
