摘要

由于地域、文化、历史等方面的差异性，中美两国的婚俗习惯有着很大的不同。中国人深受儒家思想的影响，讲求礼仪，婚礼喜爱热闹。相比之下，美国人相对独立，他们更为浪漫自由，婚礼仪式神圣庄重。作为中国婚俗中的重要部分，聘礼有着其独特的表现形式和意义，而在美国所谓的聘礼即一枚订婚戒指，它与中国聘礼有着相似的意义。两国婚俗中的差异是由于环境、价值观、性格等方面的差异逐步累积起来的，而在全球化的今天，两国的文化正逐渐彼此了解与借鉴。

Abstract

Due to their respective region,culture, history and so on, Chinese marriage customs are quite different from American counterparts.Chinese are deeply influenced by Confucianism, so they put more attention to etiquette, and their weddings store jollification. By contrast, Americans are more independent and romantic. Their weddings are sacred and solemn. As an important element of Chinese marriage customs, bride price has its unique representation and meaning. In America, an engagement ring has a meaning similar to Chinese bride price. The differences between these two customs are formed by different environment, values, character, etc. Today, with the globalization, Chinese and Americans are understanding and learning each other’s culture.
