摘要

不同的文化背景会孕育出不同的时间观，不同的时间观会引起跨文化交际中的误会和冲突。本文从环形与线形的实践形态观、过去与未来的时间取向观、单向与多向的时间制式观以及重开头和重过程的时间序列观对以中国为代表的中方国家和以美国为代表的西方国家的时间观进行比较，并且从历史文化背景、宗教信仰、价值观取向和高低语境四个方面对时间观差异进行分析，进一步根据所分析的中西方时间观差异的根源，找出解决实际生活中由于时间观差异而引起的交流隔阂的途径，从而提高跨文化交际的有效性。

Abstract

 Different cultural background results in different time concept, which will lead to misunderstandings and conflicts in intercultural communication. According to different time pattern, time orientation, time format and time series, this thesis compares the different phenomena of different time concepts between eastern country, represented by China, and western country, represented by America. In addition, this thesis analyses the causes of the differences between eastern and western time concept in the aspect of historical and cultural background, religious belief, value orientation and high-context and low-context. Further according to the cause analysis, the thesis is aimed to find out the solutions to communication barriers resulted from time concept differences in our real life.
