现今对外贸日益的发达，这也让外贸函电在外贸交易中处于十分重要的地位。而委婉语则广泛地应用于外贸函电中，正确使用委婉语可以避免贸易中遇到的尴尬与不快，因此研究委婉语在外贸函电中的应用具有较高的实用价值。本研究在总结了前人在相关领域研究的基础上，通过对比不同的外贸函电实例，从委婉语的语用目的、词汇和句法的角度分析了外贸函电中委婉语的应用。通过研究，发现委婉语在外贸函电中具有更新性与时代性的特点，认识到了委婉语在外贸函电中的礼貌作用和掩饰作用以及这两种作用在函电中的体现。为相关领域学者，工作人员提供支持与参考。并且通过此次的研究，可以促进委婉语在日常生活中的运用。

Abstract

As foreign trade has grown so rapid, the business correspondences is significant to the foreign trade. With the wide application of euphemisms in business correspondences, euphemisms can help people to avoid unpleasant and embarrassing situation. Therefore, the study of this subject has practical value. Literature research approach will be applied in the paper. Comparing high frequency sentences is also a method that used. Some typical examples will be compared and analyzed. Meanwhile, differences between different pragmatic purposes of euphemisms will be introduced. Various examples from the words aspect to syntactic method aspect will be analyzed. In addition, we can see the dissimulation type and self-deprecating type from manner purpose. The characteristics of renewal and characteristics of modernity can be understood. And this study can help the people who work in this area and who want to improve their writing in business correspondences. Through this paper, people can have a better cognition on euphemisms and use them well in business correspondence. At the same time, the knowledge that learned can even be used in our daily life.
