摘  要

洋泾浜英语是一种特殊的英语，它起源于上海，是十九世纪没有受过正规英语教育的上海人说的英语。洋泾浜英语不讲语法，而且按中文字对字地翻成英文。洋泾浜英语最初在十九世纪被中外商人使用，用来进行交流和商谈。洋泾浜英语没有书面形式，只有口语形式。本文通过研究洋泾浜英语在中国的起源和发展，以及鸦片战争时期中国与英国之间的贸易往来, 来了解洋泾浜英语在鸦片战争时期英国与中国贸易中的重要作用。通过撰写此论文，我们不仅可以了解历史，吸取教训，也让我们看到鸦片战争时期外贸和洋泾浜英语之间的微妙关系，让人们看到贸易是离不开交流，交流不能没有英语，英语能促进外贸发展。洋泾浜英语作为一种特殊的英语，是时代的特殊产物，它对鸦片战争时期的人们的思想意识、个体贸易、政府贸易等都起着重要作用，有着深远的影响。了解了洋泾浜英语对外贸的重要性之后，我们应该在外贸行业中重视英语学习。英语是外贸中重要的沟通工具，两者的关系是密不可分的。我们应该继续学习正确的英语，并将它更好的运用到外贸工作中，在以后的外贸工作中取得更优秀的成绩。

Abstract

Pidgin English is a kind of special English. It originated from Shanghai. It was the English spoken by uneducated locals in Shanghai in the 19th century. Pidgin English does not care about grammar. It translated word by word. Pidgin English was first used by businessmen in the 19th century home and abroad to communicate and negotiate. Pidgin English has no written forms , but only spoken form . This paper will research in the origin and development of Pidgin English, and the trade between China and UK during the Opium War to illustrate the importance of Pidgin English at that time. Through writing this paper, we can not only know the history and learn a lesson, but also see the subtle relationship between the foreign trade and Pidgin English during the Opium War. We will see that foreign trade cannot be without communication. Communication cannot leave English. English will promote the development of foreign trade. Pidgin English , as a kind of special English, was a special historic product. It had a strong influence on people’s ideology, individual business, and governmental business. After knowing the importance of Pidgin English, we should realize the importance of learning English in foreign trade. English is a communication tool in foreign trade. They are closely related. We should learn standard and correct English and use it properly in the foreign trade, thus make great achievements in the future.
