摘 要
身势语普遍出现在人们的日常交流中,现也频繁应用于国际商务谈判中。身势语是非言语交际中的一种方式,是人们利用自身的形体动作进行交际的重要手段。通过身势语的定义,我们发现,人们运用自己的身体动作或面部表情等来表达事实或个人看法,以便达到交际目的,避免产生误解和矛盾。身势语如同有声语言一样,在文化中扮演着重要的角色,并且我们常常会关注它在不同的言语环境所体现的不同的含义。因此基于前人对身势语的研究,本文将继续深入讨论,从英汉身势语的文化差异这方面研究身势语在商务谈判中的交际功能,并根据分析总结,提出关于交际功能的新的看法,从而帮助人们更好地理解和运用身势语,更重要的是帮助谈判者成功地完成谈判。

Abstract
Body language is very widely used in our daily communication, and now it is also frequently applied into the international business negotiations. Body language is one of the ways of nonverbal communication, as well as an important means by which people avail themselves of their own body movements to communicate with others. As we can see from dictionaries, body language refers to a way how people use body movements, facial expressions and so on to express the facts and personal opinions, so that speakers can achieve the goal of communication without causing misunderstandings and conflicts. When it comes to body language, it functions like the verbal language and plays a very important role in the culture. And we often notice the fact that in different language environments the same body language represents different meanings. Thus, led by the previous studies of body language, this dissertation will continue with the discussion about its communicative functions in business negotiations by analyzing the cultural differences of body language between English and Chinese. Then on basis of the analyses and conclusions, the new ideas about the communicative functions are proposed to achieve a better understanding and application of body language and above all to help negotiators to accomplish business negotiations.
