摘 要
肢体语言是跨文化交际中的重要组成部分,忽视它的存在会引起很多误会和矛盾。这些误会和矛盾在不同的文化背景下尤其被放大。中国和美国这两个世界大国之间的交流日益频繁,虽说这两个国家在肢体语言上有着很多相似之处,但是由于历史背景和文化的不同,肢体语言也略有差异。只有深入地了解这些肢体语言的异同,我们才能够提升自己的跨文化交际能力,促进中美交流。国内外的一些专家学者对肢体语言已经有了相关研究,并取得了一定进展。基于前人对肢体语言的研究,本文将对肢体语言继续深入探讨。文章第一章和第二章对肢体语言进行一个简介,第三章写研究肢体语言这一课题的重要性。第四章是该篇论文的核心部分,讲述肢体语言在中美交流中的应用,并结合案例进行详解,让读者在今后的日常交流中更好地运用肢体语言,使表达更生动更准确。最后一章是对本文的一个总结,并给出了一些建议。

Abstract
Body language plays an extremely important role in intercultural communication, and it is used frequently in daily life. Especially in the U.S., people keep making gestures or facial expressions when they talk to others, so that the listeners can fully understand the words. Nonetheless, People in China don’t pay much attention to it, which leads to misunderstandings and even conflicts as they communicate with foreigners. What’s more, this situation is intensified under the background of different cultures. With increasingly frequent communication between China and the United States, the study from intercultural aspect is of great significance. Though there are many similarities in body language, some of them are different due to the diversities of cultures. Only by making a deep research in this area can people improve their abilities in intercultural encounters, and communicate with others in a better way. A number of experts and scholars at home and abroad have made plenty of relevant researches. And great success has been achieved in this area. Led by the previous studies on body language, this dissertation will have a deeper research on it. In the first and second chapters there is a brief introduction. And the third chapter is the significance. The fourth part is the core of this paper. It argues the application of body language in Sino-US, and some cases are given to make a better understanding for readers. The last chapter is a conclusion of the paper. Some suggestions are given.
