摘  要

修辞学是研究修辞的学问，修辞是加强言辞或文句效果的艺术手法。诗歌是一种内容与形式高度结合统一，并体现出“美感”、适宜吟咏的有着较长历史的文学形式。而修辞应用于诗歌中，使诗歌更富感染力，更具说服力，更添吸引力。本文将从修辞学的角度讨论英语诗歌的赏析。首先，本文会从修辞的定义出发讨论修辞在诗歌中的作用和意义及其对诗歌的影响。接着讨论修辞和诗歌的关系，其中包括诗歌中常出现的修辞手段及其在在诗歌中的应用。最后从两首经典英语诗歌着手探讨从修辞学角度赏析英语诗歌的途径。通过分析得出修辞学于英语诗歌赏析的独特意义和作用。

Abstract

Rhetoric is the art of discourse that studies rhetorical devices, and rhetorical devices are the means of artistic expressions with the aim of strengthening the effects of words or sentences. Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language to produce meanings in addition to the ordinary superficial meanings with a very long history. The application of rhetoric makes poetry more expressive, infectious, persuasive and charming. Thus this paper will talk about the appreciation of English poems from the perspective of rhetoric briefly. Firstly, the author will introduce the definition, the importance and the influence of rhetoric. Then, the topic will be the relationships of rhetoric and English poems, including the common rhetorical devices and their applications in English poems. Finally, there will be the approaches to appreciate English poems from the perspective of rhetoric with two classical case studies of English poems. The conclusion will be the importance and indispensability of rhetoric in English poems as well as the effects rhetoric brings to English poems.
