摘 要
商务谈判是经济贸易合作的双方为达成某种交易或解决某种争端而进行的协商洽谈活动。在这样的协商活动中,双方的交换条件,包括产品质量、经营信誉、技术优势等实质性的因素起着主导作用,但就其外部流程和形态而言,商务谈判又是双方谈判人员运用语言传达观点、交流意见的过程。商务谈判中语言运用的成功与否,对谈判的进程与结果起着举足轻重的作用。为此,本文分别从英语作为国际通用语的重要性,模糊语和礼貌语言等方面阐述语言在国际谈判这一领域中的灵活运用。

Abstract
Business negotiation actually is a negotiation activity for both trading parties to reach a deal or settle some disputes. Conditions such as product quality, business reputation, technological advantages and other substantial factors exchanged by the two parties play a leading role in business negotiations. But in terms of its external process and form, business negotiation is a process that both sides of negotiators use language to convey ideas and exchange views. How to use the instrument of language appropriately and skillfully so as to gain the effect to enhance friendship and ease up conflict between the two parties with the result of promoting the negotiation efficiency is one of the decisive factors of successful negotiation. To this end, this paper will give an analysis to the importance of English as a lingua franca in international business negotiation and the appropriate usage of vague language, polite language.
