摘  要

随着世界经济高速发展，各国之间的交流日益加深，金融事务作为一种重要的经济活动，在商务交流中起着举足轻重的作用。然而在交流中，在不同的句子中,因为社交语境的不同，同一个单词或是词组会有截然不同的意思。社交语境对金融英语有很大的影响。本文通过一系列实例阐述了社交语境对金融英语翻译的影响，并分析了社交语境的两种功能：解释功能和过滤功能。笔者认为社交语境能赋予金融英语中的笼统概念以具体的意义，可以解释金融英语中的隐含意义，可以解释金融英语话语中的讽刺，可以帮助消除金融英语词汇中的歧义等。探索金融英语中社交语境的功能有助于我们对社交语境有一个更深刻的理解，也有助于我们的金融英语学习理解和翻译。

Abstract

With the fast development of world economy, the communication among countries deepens day by day. As an important economic activity, financial business plays an important role in business communication. However, in the process of communication, the same word or phrase may have different meanings in different sentences because of the existence of social context. Social context exerts vital importance on the understanding of financial English. This paper attempts to analyze the influence of social context in the translation of financial English, and two main functions of social context: interpretive function and selecting function. The writer holds that social context in financial English can narrow the general meaning to a specific meaning, can help go beyond the literal meaning and indicate the connotation in financial English, can help explain the irony in the discourse, can eliminate the ambiguity of words, can make the illogical discourse logical, and so on. Exploring further the social context in financial English helps us have a deeper understanding about the social context, and also helps us in the learning and translation of financial English.
