摘要

说唱乐（Rap）起源于70年代末纽约的黑人贫民区，它是以一段固定的旋律和节奏，配上电子琴键盘乐器、刮唱片和独特的一连串押韵的黑人英语词句组成。押韵是指在两个或两个以上的单词中有相似的音的重复，这一现象常在诗歌和歌曲中出现。说唱乐中，押韵主要分为完全押韵、缺陷押韵、多重押韵等类型。押韵格式（Rhyme Scheme）是指在诗歌或说唱歌曲中对词的韵脚位置的安排，影响着歌词的节奏韵律，其中包括对句（Couplet），单句押韵（Single-liner）等。
本论文旨在研究说唱乐歌词中的押韵修辞，从而说明押韵这一修辞手法对说唱歌词创作的重要性。文中会以某些著名的说唱作品为例，赏析其押韵手法，进一步阐明押韵赋予说唱歌词的音乐性和艺术性。

Abstract
Rap is a popular music form that is characterized by spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics with a strong rhythmic accompaniment. Rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds in two or more words, usually at the end of lines in poems or songs. In Rap music, rhymes are divided into perfect rhymes, slant rhymes, multi-syllable rhymes, etc. Rhyme scheme refers to the arrangement of rhyme between lines, which includes couplet, single-liner, etc.
This study is to appreciate rap lyrics by analyzing their rhyming skills. Rhyming is not only a rapping technique but also one of English phonetic rhetorical devices. This thesis is also to study the functions of rhyme and find the rhythmicity and musicality in rap lyrics.

1.    Introduction
1.1 Simple introduction of Rap music
Rap or Hip-pop music, as part of Hip-hop culture, is a music genre characterized by spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics with a strong rhythmic accompaniment (Evenson, 1994). As a way for young black people to express their thoughts, passion, and anger on account of poverty, unfairness and discrimination, Rap music was formed in the crime-ridden neighborhoods of New York City during the 1970s. It had a wide influence on American young people at that time. As a music form, rap is divided into many different styles such as Gangster Rap, West Coast Rap, and Hardcore Rap. It is influenced by other music elements such as Disco and it also blends into other music styles such as Rock, Pop.
