摘要

男女两性在日常会话中，各有自己的语言特色。格莱斯于1967年提出合作原则，并将其分为四个准则，包括数量准则，质量准则，关系准则以及方式准则。本文从合作原则的角度，以《绯闻女孩》为例，通过对其中的对话进行分析，研究现代女性的日常话语特点并从社会、心理和教育三个方面分析其成因。女性在社会中扮演重要的角色，对女性话语的研究有助于更好的了解女性，认识女性心理特征。

Abstract

Men and women have different features in daily conversation. Grice put forward the Cooperative Principle in 1967, including the maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation and maxim of manner. The paper will analyze the conversations in Gossip Girl from the perspective of Cooperative Principle. By comparing and analyzing the discourses, the characteristics of women’s conversation are exposed. The paper will analyze the causes from the perspectives of social, psychological and educational factors. Women play an important rule in society; studying women conversation is good for understanding women and their psychological characteristics.

1. Introduction
1.1 The aim of chosen title and significance of research
Nowadays, women have no longer been the same as before. More and more women do not stay at home any more; they study hard and get high education in order to get a very good job. As a result, the social situation of women has improved a lot. They can not only take part in many activities such as international meetings，academic forums，entertainment program, but also have more rights like voting and speaking. The phenomenon that women speak much in public has become a normal fact. On account of this fact, the research of women’s discourse is necessary.
The study of women discourse not only has theoretical significance, but also has practical significance. Theoretically, this title is closely related to a very important linguistic theory--- the Cooperative principle. With the exploring of this study, people can get more knowledge of linguistics and pragmatics. The conversational implicature is also an extra knowledge for English learners. Practically, with the studying of characteristics of women conversation, people can talk with women more comfortably. Because if one is familiar with the characteristics of women’s conversation, he will know what women really mean when they say something and know what they want to listen to. For example, if a woman says that she bought a new clothe, with the understanding of woman’s vanity and indirectness, he will realize that the woman is to ask whether the new clothe is beautiful or not. If he can realize this conversational meaning, the conversation will be smoothly continued.
