摘要

在语用学中，格莱斯会话含义理论一直被认为是推理与分析会话含义的重要理论。它不仅被广泛应用于会话含义的推理与分析之中，而且适用于新闻语篇的含义推理。本文的新闻研究案例主要是网球新闻，全部收集于China Daily的网页版。本文主要以格莱斯会话含义理论为基本框架，以体育新闻作为主要研究对象，旨在挖掘隐藏在字面含义下的真实语义。通过对各个典型案例中的具体分析，本文试图更好得理解格莱斯会话含义理论在新闻语篇中的具体应用，帮助读者理解和阅读新闻信息。

Abstract

Theory of Conversational Implicature, put forward by Grice in 1967, is regarded as a great breakthrough in the field of pragmatics. As far as we are concerned, it has been widely used to study internal meaning on conversations.
In this thesis, news discourse, which is distinctive for its characteristics of narration, authenticity and consciousness, is also related to the application of Grice’s theory of conversational implicature.
Evidently，this thesis is theoretically based on the Grice’s theory of Cooperative Principle (CP) and the theory of Conversational Implicature (CI). News discourses cases are all collected from the sport column of China Daily. By analyzing the observance and non-observance of Grice’s theory， this thesis is aimed to help readers understand truly what exactly the news discourse is referred to.

1. Introduction
The theory of CP and CI, advanced by H.P. Grice in 1967，has attracted great attentions from both the philosophical field and the linguistic field. Besides, the theory is thought highly of by many pragmatics experts, and is widely used to analyze the relation between language and language speakers.
1.1 Topic and Significance of the Thesis
There is no doubt that the great importance of Grice’s theory is related to the study of conversation. Just as discussed in the abstract, this thesis is trying to disclose the observance and non-observance of the theory in news discourse. Jiang Wangqi (2008) argues that pragmatic research is taking a trend of “return” to discourse. Therefore, author tries to pay attention analysis of one kind of discourse ---news discourse. With the characteristics of narration, authenticity and consciousness, closely related to those of conversation, news discourse can also be treated as a particular kind of conversation and helps us to understand more practical usage of theory of conversational implicature and cooperative principle.
