An Analysis of Psychological Change and Cause in The Godfather
Abstract
The Godfather is a crime fiction which was written by Mario Puzo in 1969. It describes a period of history about American mafia group of Corleone family. The thesis will choose Vito Corleone and Michael Corleone as object of research. During the discussion of paper, I’ll set Vito’s shot as turning point to observe the reaction of the Corleones, and make an analysis about motivation of their psychological change to understand the filiation of Vito and Michael. It’s worth noting that in Michael’s analysis, the paper will cite de-territorialized and re-territorialized theory as a basic argument support, this theory can tell us how Michael has changed from ideal to realistic. In conclusion of this paper, the author tend to agree that the relationship of Corleones is always be connected, they may have divergence on some conceptions, but it’s okay for them to unite against outside attack when their family is facing a challenge.
