An Analysis of the Similarities and Differences of Harry in The Snows of Kilimanjaro and the Novelist Ernest Hemingway
Abstract
The Snows of Kilimanjaro written by Ernest Hemingway tells the readers the story of an American writer Harry. When he was hurt and confronted with death, he recalled his lifetime in the blend of reality and imagination. When reading Hemingway’s biography, the author has found that there are many similarities between Harry and Hemingway’s experiences in spite of a few differences. This paper intends to prove that Ernest Hemingway is the prototype of Harry through comparison of large amount of similarities and a few differences displayed in the book of their life experience and personal attitude.
