摘    要

    《简爱》是19世纪英国批判现实主义文学作家夏洛蒂勃朗特的代表作。它成功地塑造了英国文学史中第一个对爱情、生活、社会以及宗教都采取了独立自主的积极进取态度和敢于斗争、敢于争取自由平等地位的女性形象。当我们深入了解简爱的性格时，我们应该着重于简爱性格的特殊性，简爱性格的形成，简爱的写作背景以及简爱性格对当时社会的妥协。19世纪的英国，希腊神话和基督教的圣经对西方文学有很大的影响。因此，简爱的作者夏洛蒂。勃朗特也收到了宗教意识的影响，同时也反应在了她的作品上。除了简爱的童年经历，简爱身边的人对她也是影响颇深。比如简爱的两段感情经历就反应出了她独特的爱情和婚姻观。当我们深入了解简爱时，很多人可能会忽略两个很重要的人物：海伦和伯莎。我认为，伯莎和海伦分别是理想化道德化的简爱和愤怒的疯狂的简爱。通过19世纪女权主义的影响，夏洛蒂勃朗特试着去创造一个神话人物，但是在反抗的同时，总有一种妥协的力量在它的外围世界，简爱的反抗在某种程度上始终是受限制的。

Abstract

Jane Eyre is the masterpiece of 19th century critical realism writer, Charlotte Bronte. It successfully shaped the first woman of British literature who had an independent and enterprising attitude towards love, life, society and religion. What’s more, she dares to fight for freedom, quality and self esteem. While understanding Jane’s personality, we should focus on the unique characters of Jane Eyre, the reason of Jane’s personality, Jane Eyre’s writing background, and also the contradiction of Jane’s personality towards the society. The Greek mythology and the Christian Holy Scripture have a significant meaning to western literature. So its author---Charlotte Bronte was influenced a lot by the Christian religion. Except her childhood experience, the people around Jane are crucial to Jane’s character. For example, her two love experience with two people showed Jane’s special view towards love and marriage. While deeply understanding Jane’s character, many readers may ignore two important characters: Helen Burns and Bertha Mason. In my opinion, Helen Burns and Bertha Mason served respectively as ideal，moral Jane and wrathful，crazy Jane. With the influence of 19th century women liberation, Charlotte Bronte tried to create a mythical figure. In fact, there is a spirit of compromise outside their rebellious spirit. Jane‘s resistance is restrained in some degree.
