摘要

美国现代女作家玛格丽特.米切尔著的长篇通俗小说《飘》发表六十多年来，一直深受广大读者的欢迎。然而，在众多批评家看来，该小说是不能进入美国文学的神圣殿堂的通俗小说，而女主人公斯佳丽是一个极度自私、爱慕虚荣、残酷无情、为达目的不择手段的女性。本论文从女性的角度分析斯佳丽在战争中逐渐变成熟的过程。本文主要分析她在三个人生阶段中逐渐变成熟，成为一个南方的新女性。她的改变与当时南方社会的巨变是分不开的.

Gone with the wind ,Margaret Mitchell＇s first and only novel published before her death has been one of the bestsellers and popular with the reader ever since its publication the film version sweeps the word and has arouse interest of a large number of fascinated viewers, what puzzles us is that the immense success of the novel and film has never attracted the great attention of the critical circles of literature to many critics of literature to many critics, this novel has never entered  the sacred palace of American literature and Scarlett O＇Hara, the heroine in the novel, is an heroine in the novel, is an extremely selfish, vain, and merciless woman who will not hesitate to resort to any means in order to reach her ends.
The thesis seeks to analyze the controversial heroine Scarlett from a feminist perspective .in her life experience Scarlett is increasingly maturing and in the end becomes a Southern new woman with strong feminist leanings. Her transformation is closely related to the social upheaval in the South

1.Introduction
War is a disaster to people from ancient time whether it is a just war or not and people always suffer from hunger blooding and becoming homeless in the war. American Civil War is very famous in the history which is a just war that disintegrated the system of slave and set slaves free. Gone with the Wind is a successful work which narrates the changes of a slave owner’s family in the experiences of Scarlett in the Civil War. The scarlet＇s changing has an important significance in history. The novel mainly describes several young people’s love during the Civil War. The protagonist Scarlett is a beautiful girl who represents the class of degenerated noble .There are many essential characteristics of slave owner such as cruelty, greed and self-confidence in Scarlett. The Civil War as the great setting made the heroine grow up from a childish girl to a mature woman. Because of her selfishness and greed , she found out what was she really wanted, but she got lost .She lost her dear friend, her children, her husband .At the end of the story ,she says “After all, tomorrow is another day”. She hopes something regain in her life. Here this sentence is not only a reflection of the title of the novel, but also a clue runs through the whole story. The main purpose of the paper is to analyze the war influence the character of scarlett and lead to scarlett grow up from a childish girl to a mature women .
