摘要

随着技术的发展，经济的全球化，移民的广泛流行，以及多元文化的发展，世界各国的人民前所未有地被紧密联系在一起，互相交流互相影响，跨文化交际随之产生。由于文化的差异，跨文化交际中经常发生语用失误而导致交际失败。因此，跨文化交际作为一个独立的学科受到了世界各地大量学者的专注。其中，外语教师一直作为主力军参与跨文化交际的研究。
目前更多的学者把研究重心放在了“跨国交流”上。然而事实是，大多的跨文化交际应该是存在于一个国家内的来自不同社会群体的人们之间。而这正是跨文化交际学中较为缺失的部分。本文将着重研究此类跨文化交际。
为了防止跨文化交际中的交际失败频繁发生，国内外学者提出了很多语用原则来辅助交流，例如合作原则、礼貌原则。其中礼貌原则更具约束力。然而不同文化中的礼貌原则有所区别，这也增加了跨文化交际的难度。
本文将以一、二两部《拜见岳父大人》为例，通过对其中对话的分析，找出人们违反礼貌原则的原因及结果，论礼貌原则在跨文化交际中的重要作用以及不同的文化对礼貌原则的影响。

Abstract

Because of the technological development, globalization of the economy, widespread population migrations and development of multiculturalism, people all around the world are well connected to each other now. Meanwhile, intercultural communication appears and through it, people exchange their ideas and influence each other. Due to the cultural differences, a vast of pragmatic mistakes happen in the intercultural communications and these mistakes lead to the failure of the communications. Therefore, a host of scholars give much attention to intercultural communication as an independent subject. And among all these scholars, the foreign languages teachers have always been the main force. What the majority of these scholars study is the “international communication”. On the contrary, the fact is the communications between people with the same nationality but from different social groups are that kind of intercultural communication happens most frequently. This essay will focus on this sort of intercultural communication.
To prevent the communication failures happening too frequently, scholars all around the world have put forward many pragmatic principles, such as Cooperative Principle and Politeness Principle. Among all of them, Politeness Principle has the most powerful binding force. Unfortunately, Politeness Principles differ in different cultures to some extent, and this makes the intercultural communication harder.
In this essay, to see how important Politeness Principle is in intercultural communication and how the different cultures affect the effect of it, conversations from Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers will be analyzed, and the reasons and results for people to violate Politeness Principle will be found.
