Abstract:
Alice Munro is one of the famous Canadian writers and renowned of her short stories. She is internationally recognized as one of the great short story writers in English. Her accessible and moving stories are mostly written from the point of view of a young girl or adult and address themes of particular interest to women’s family, friends in a small town. This paper attempts to make a brief introduction to the evolution of female consciousness in Alice Munro’s work. In her early writing, taking Dance of the Happy Shades for example, Munro has focused on the girls who just start their family life and troubled by love, sexual, betray and children. In her late period, taking Runaway for example, she keeps the watchful eye on the women struggling in mid-life crisis and trivial life. Through research on Alice Munro’s work, this paper analyses the evolution of writing style and focus area on writers, especially on women writers, influenced by age and surroundings. It also explains representations and reasons of this case, which provides train of thought for research on writer's life.

摘  要：

爱丽丝门罗是加拿大最著名的作家之一，她以她的短篇小说而颇具盛名，并被国际公认为最伟大的短篇小说家之一。她的故事主要着笔于一些小镇中，年轻未成年的女孩儿和在婚姻中迷茫摸索的女人的家庭和朋友关系，既平易近人又动人真情。这篇论文主要讨论的是爱丽丝门罗作品中女性思想的演变。她的早期创作中，是一些刚刚进入家庭生活的女孩子，以《快乐的影子之舞》为例讲述了女孩子们为爱情、性、背叛、孩子等苦恼；到后期，以《逃离》为例，关注的则是在中年危机和琐碎生活中挣扎的女性。本文以爱丽丝门罗为切入点，分析了作家，尤其是女性作家在创作中受到年龄和生活环境的影响，创作风格和关注重点的演变，并在此基础上阐释了这种现象的表现和原因，为作家生平研究提供了明确的思路。

1 Introduction
Alice Munro is a famous Canadian writer, known for her creative short stories. Since the debut collection of short stories Dance of the happy shadow published in 1968, she has written 11 collections of short stories and a novel. For decades, her works are not only of huge amount and high quality , but also wins many literary honors including the 2000 Booker Prize, the Giller Prize and the Governor General's Award. In 2013, Alice Munro won the Nobel Prize in literature with the unique creation for decades. The famous literary critic Ghana once commented her that “There are lots of writers in the world but few of them are real artists. It is difficult to find someone who have both quality. Alice Munro is a real artist.” This shows the high reputation of Alice Munro.
