Abstract: David Herbert Lawrence made great contributions to the development of the English psychological novel. Sons and Lovers, which is commonly regarded as his semi-autobiographical work, establish the great reputation for him. This novel is an investigation of love between men and women and the relations between the son and the mother. Scholars both abroad and at home pay more attention to the study of this classic work, which has never suspended since the 20th century. This thesis applies the theory of archetypal criticism, especially the theory of shadow, to analyze the misplaced love in Sons and Lovers and to demonstrate the existence of misplaced love in the novel by which the novel is freshly investigated. At the beginning of the thesis, it concentrates on the introduction of the writer, the novel and the research concerned, and the reference to the main point of this text. At the second part of this thesis, the meanings of the theory of archetype and shadow are explained methodically in order to facilitate the further interpretation of the novel. Then, it is the introduction of the corresponding relations between the characters and mythological figures. The forth part is the main part of this thesis. At this part, the thesis focuses on the analysis of the characters mainly of their misplaced love with the theory of shadow. In the conclusion, the viewpoint is emphasized again. The applying of shadow enriches the research of Sons and Lovers and this new perspective of  delving into the misplace love  of  the characters means a fresh look  into further  relevant researches both of Laurence’s and  other writers  at his stand.

摘 要：大卫•赫伯特•劳伦斯对英国的心理小说做出了巨大的贡献。《儿子与情人》通常是被视为他的半自传体作品,并为他建立了良好的声誉。这篇小说是研究男女之间的爱和儿子与母亲之间的关系的作品。自二十世纪以来，国内外学者对这个经典的研究工作从未停止过。而本文运用原型批评理论，特别是阴影理论来分析《儿子与情人》中错位的爱。本文研究的目的是为了论证错位的爱的存在性,从而对小说做一个新的研究。在论文的开头,它集中的介绍作家、小说和相关的研究，指出本文的研究重点。在本文的第二部分,通过对原型理论和阴影理论的具体解析式读者更加理解文本。然后,文章引入与文本角色对应的神话人物进行分析。第四部分是本论文的主要部分。在这一部分,论文重点运用阴影理论从错位的爱的角度分析文本中的人物。阴影理论的运用丰富了对《儿子与情人》的研究，同时对人物中错位的爱的深入研究对进一步研究劳伦斯以及同时代的人是一个全新的视角。
