《道连•格雷的画像》是唯美主义运动倡导者爱尔兰作家奥斯卡•王尔德唯一的一部长篇小说，自小说初次问世以来，便颇受社会各界争议。小说男主人公道连•格雷在遇到亨利勋爵之后，个性由单纯变为世故，灵魂由纯洁转为污秽，最终走向死亡。本论文从弗洛伊德三重人格角度重新解读《道连•格雷的画像》中王尔德的矛盾人格。弗洛伊德认为，人格由遵循“快乐原则”的本我、遵循“现实原则”的自我和遵循“道德原则”的超我组成，只有这三者处于平衡状态，人格才能正常发展；反之，则会导致人格失衡，个体走向死亡。小说中亨利、道连、巴兹尔分别是王尔德本我、自我、超我的代表。通过探讨体现在这三个主要人物身上的王尔德本人的矛盾人格，更深层次了解这部小说的意义及其作者王尔德。主人公道连和王尔德命运同样悲惨，由于人格失衡，道连走上了犯罪自毁之路，而王尔德也从春风得意沦为锒铛入狱，客死巴黎。由此可以看出人格平衡对于个人的正常发展极其重要。

ABSTRACT
   
The Picture of Dorian Gray is the only novel of Irish writer Oscar Wilde, an advocate of aesthetic movement. Since the publication of this novel in 1891, disputes towards it from all walks of life followed. In the novel, the hero Dorian Gray, initially an innocent boy, degenerated into a sophisticated man and his pure soul became foul when Lord Henry came into his life. This paper attempts to analyze the conflicting personality of Oscar Wilde reflected in The Picture of Dorian Gray from the perspective of Sigmund Freud’s triple personality theory. As Freud points out, a complete personality consists of the id, the ego and the superego, acting upon the principles of pleasure, reality and morality respectively. Only when the three interact harmoniously can the personality develop normally. Otherwise, the unbalanced personality will indubitably result in self-destruction. The three main characters, Henry, Dorian and Basil are the representatives of Wilde’s id, ego and the superego respectively. In order to deepen the understanding of this novel as well as its author Wilde, Wilde’s contradictory personality will be probed into with the analysis of the three main figures in the novel. Both Dorian and Wilde shared similar miserable fate in terms of the unbalanced personality. Dorian degenerated into a killer and ended up into self-destruction, and similarly Wilde flushed with success at first, went to jail, discredited, and at last he died in Paris. Therefore, the balance of personality plays a significant role in the personal development.
