Abstract

The Kite Runner is the first representative novel by Afghan-American writer Khaled Hosseini. The novel describes how Amir, an Afghan rich boy, betrayed his friend and then gained redemption himself. This novel has gained a great popularity in the world since it was published. It is not just a betrayal-redemption story, but also a political epic. From the sensitive, security-lacking Amir to his complicated father, and until Amir went back to Afghanistan to find something about his father, we then came to know the differences between America and the Middle East. These contents make up the key plot of the novel. At the same time, this novel, which has both contemporary and highly literary senses, draws the world’s attention to the country. In this sense, we can say the novel is of great value. This paper intends to make a contrastive analysis of the human betrayal and redemption, and also hopes to draw readers’ attention to the war-torn country. And it can be divided into four parts to describe and analyses the theme.

摘要

  《追风筝的人》是美裔阿富汗作家卡勒德・胡塞尼的第一部作品，也是其最具代表性的作品之一，该作品发表于2003年6月。这部小说是以1970年代的阿富汗与之后的美国为背景，描述了阿富汗富家少爷阿米尔从背叛到自我救赎的过程。
   这部作品一经问世就引起了全世界的注目，其影响巨大这不仅是一部关于童年选择如何影响我们成年生活的极度贴近人性的故事，也是一部政治史诗。本书从敏感、缺乏安全感的阿米尔到他具有多层次性格的父亲，直到阿米尔回到阿富汗之后才逐步揭露父亲的牺牲于丑闻，也才了解历史在美国和中东的分岔......这些内容缔造了一部完整的文学作品，将这个过去不引人注意、在新千年却成为全球政治焦点的国家的文化呈现世人面前，同时兼具时代感与高度文学质感，极为难能可贵。
   本课题通过对《追风筝的人》中主人公阿米尔对哈桑的背叛与之后他完成自我救赎过程的研究来展现人性的善与恶，同时引起人们对阿富汗这个战时国家的关注，本课题的研究意义深远。共分为四个部分来描述分析文章的主题思想。
