Abstract: Emma is written by renowned British writer Jane Austen in 1815, which is the most mature in the ideas and the arts in all her novels. This novel reflects profoundly her feminine consciousness. The heroine of Emma, Emma Woodhouse is a beautiful, clever and rich girl, having high status both in the family and in the society. Based on feminism, this paper displays Emma’s feminine consciousness which reflects on her freedom and equality, independence and confidence, definite view and self-examination consciousness. Then this paper explores social and family reasons for the formation of Emma’s feminine consciousness. What’s more, modern women can learn from Emma to raise their feminine consciousness, realize their values and learn more knowledge by taking part in social activities.

摘要：《爱玛》是英国著名作家简•奥斯汀于1815年写成的, 是她的作品中思想上艺术上最成熟的一部小说。小说的主人公爱玛•伍德豪斯是个美丽聪明的有钱人家的小姐，无论是在家里还是在社会上都有很高的地位。本文从女性主义的角度对女主人公爱玛进行解读。爱玛身上的女性主义意识主要体现在追求自由平等、独立自信、有主见且有自我审视的意识这三个方面，并且从社会和家庭两个方面分析爱玛女性意识产生的原因。现代女性可以从爱玛身上得到一些启示，从而提高女性意识，了解自己的价值，并且通过参加社会活动学习到更多的知识。
