Abstract

Harmony is an important philosophical category. It is a state of the identity, an ideal existence of all sorts of contradictory relationships. The harmonious relationship among different things and among the internal factors of things is a bright side of development trend, and the relationship between nature and human society is of no exception. Lawrence is a disputed author, whose novel Lady Chatterley’s Lover is also disputing because of the description of sexual love, but he actually expresses his longing for beautiful harmony in this novel.
Three disharmonious states can be found in Lady Chatterley’s Lover. However, in depth, the disclosure and depiction of the disharmonious states by D. H. Lawrence is just the illustration of his desire for a harmonious society.
Scholars’ research mostly focuses on modern industry’s negative effects on environment and ideal marriage types, whereas this paper mainly analyzes the theme of Lady Chatterley’s Lover and explores three relationships which show the theme-harmony. The main body of this paper is divided into three parts. The first part analyzes the relationship between humans and the nature in the novel. The mutual effects of humans and nature show that harmony is beneficial to keep a balance between economic development and environmental protection. The second part describes sexual relationships. The relationships between Connie and three men explain that harmony is necessary for the two genders to build a healthy relationship. The third part decodes other relationships such as international relationships and social relationships. Wars and class conflicts call for a harmonious society. The profit-first mentality should be replaced by healthy personal relationships.

摘  要

    和谐是一个重要的哲学范畴，它是各种矛盾关系理想共存的一种状态。不同事物以及事物内部各要素之间的和谐关系是发展趋势的积极方面，人类与自然的关系亦然。劳伦斯是一位极富争议的作家，他的小说《査泰莱夫人的情人》也因为对性爱的描写而饱受非议，但是这部小说体现了他对和谐的渴望。
在《査泰莱夫人的情人》一书中我们可以发现三种不和谐的状态。从深层次来说，劳伦斯对不和谐状态的揭露和描写恰恰表明了他对和谐社会的向往。
学者们对《査泰莱夫人的情人》的研究大多着眼于现代工业对环境的消极影响和理想的婚姻类型。本篇论文旨在分析《査泰莱夫人的情人》的主题，探讨表现和谐主题的三种关系类型。本篇论文的主体分为三个部分。第一部分分析了书中人与自然的关系。人与自然的相互作用表明和谐有利于经济发展和环境保护保持平衡。第二部分叙述了两性关系。康妮的三次感情经历阐述了和谐对于建立健康的两性关系的必要性。第三部分解析其他关系，比如国际关系和社会关系。战争和阶级矛盾呼唤着和谐社会的建立。健康的人际关系应该取代唯利是图的思想。
