Abstract
As an aesthete, dramatist and critic, Oscar Wilde has a very deep influence on the British literature and society. Wilde held that arts imitate life, not otherwise, the arts have nothing to do with morality. His works represented by Salome and The Picture of Dorian Gray are written to keep with the doctrine. Through the textual study of the two works, the writer analyzes the dandy images to unscramble Wilde’s aesthetic pursuit of duality. In the mask of cynical dandies, Wilde discovered and satirized the hypocrisy and degradation of upper class, and expressed his moral concerns and the serious attitude towards aestheticism. Although it is superficially that Wilde is a decadent dandy, but he has actually a unique opinion towards aesthetic pursuit on a higher level.
Structurally, this paper consists of three parts. It firstly describes the origin and development of aesthetic movement, and it explains the kernel doctrines of Wilde as a believer of aestheticism; the second chapter analyzes the dandy image of Oscar Wilde and the characters in his works, and it elaborates on this aspect from aesthetic lifestyle and moral perversity; the third chapter focuses on the relationship between beauty and morality, good and evil in Wilde’s eyes, and it states that beauty can be seen an approach to seek for redemption.; the last chapter makes a conclusion by expressing that though appearing in a dandy image, Oscar Wilde still demonstrated unique understanding and pursuit for aestheticism, beauty and morality, good and evil.

摘 要
作为一名美学家,戏剧家和评论家,奥斯卡•王尔德对英国文学和英国社会都有不可忽视的影响。王尔德认为不是艺术模仿生活,而是生活模仿艺术。他的作品《莎乐美》和《道林•格雷的画像》深刻地凸显了这一艺术主张,因此,是唯美主义的代言之作。 本文通过分析这两部作品,解读了王尔德在唯美追求之路上的双重性。王尔德在纨绔子弟玩世不恭的面具下,揭露并讥讽了上流社会的虚伪与堕落,表达了他的道德关怀和对美的严肃态度。虽然王尔德表面上是“浪荡子”形象,而实际上他有着独特更高层次的对唯美主义的精神追求。
结构上,本文第一章阐释了唯美主义运动的起源和发展过程,并简要总结了作为唯美主义的“信徒”的王尔德的主要观点。第二章是关于王尔德及其作品中的“浪荡子”形象的分析——本章分别从唯美的生活方式和道德的堕落两个方面进行阐释。第三章聚焦在王尔德对唯美主义的精神追求,分析了王尔德眼中美与道德、善与恶之间的关系,并指出在王尔德眼中美是一种自我救赎的方式。最后一章在总结了上述章节主要内容的基础上,总结并指出了以“浪荡子”形象出现的奥斯卡•王尔德对唯美主义、美与道德,对善与恶的独有、“双重性”的理解和追求。
