Abstract

    As an inseparable component of American history, slavery and its influence have been always accompanying with the development of it. Because it involves the most important social problem--- the right of survive. However, slavery deprived it from people. Although the blacks are exploited by the whites, their awareness against oppression gradually upsurges. Later, the large-scale movements of the blacks began to appear. Not only the blacks resist slavery, but also some liberal whites spontaneously boycott it. Through their unremitting efforts, anti-slavery has made great achievements. Uncle Tom's Cabin as an anti-slavery novel, describes the history of black slavery and people who seek for freedom and democracy with their efforts, exposing the bloody and cruel of the southern slave owner class and slavery for the purpose of promoting the further development of American Negro Liberation Movement.
The author hopes to object the development of Negro liberation movement through this novel in order to show the people’s struggle against slavery and their unyielding fighting spirits for freedom and equality. Structurally, Chapter One primarily introduces the background, summary, theme and achievement of the novel; Chapter Two concentrates on the analysis of characters of the novel and their fate; Chapter Three analyzes the development of
American Negro Liberation Movement; and Chapter Four introduces the influence of the novel on American Negro Liberation Movement.

摘  要

作为美国历史上不可分割的一部分，奴隶制始终伴随着美国的发展而存在，因为它触及到的是最重大的社会问题---生存权。然而，奴隶制恰恰剥夺了人们的权利。在被白人剥削的过程中，他们反抗压迫的意识逐渐被唤醒，大规模的黑人运动开始出现。不仅黑人会抵制奴隶制，也有一些开明的白人也加入到自发抵制中。通过他们的不断努力，反奴隶制运动取得了巨大的成就。作为一部反奴隶制小说，《汤姆叔叔的小屋》描述了黑人被奴役的历史和人们为了自由民主所付出的努力，深刻揭示了南方奴隶主阶级和奴隶制的血腥与残酷，推动了美国黑奴解放运动的发展。
本文旨在通过对这部小说的深入剖析，反映美国黑奴解放运动的发展历程,展示人们的反奴隶制斗争及他们追求自由和平等的反抗精神。结构上，论文第一章主要介绍了小说的时代背景、主题和成就；第二章着重分析小说中人物形象及其命运的变化；第三章主要分析美国黑奴解放运动各个阶段的发展历程；第四章着重介绍该小说对美国黑奴解放运动的深远影响。
