Abstract

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the masterwork of Mark Twain, which described Huck’s adventurous experiences with Jim along the Mississippi River. Recently, researches on this novel are mainly from the following aspects, such as the language feature, writing techniques, the irony, humors etc. This paper tries to discuss Huck’s struggling for his self-autonomy and self-shaping by analyzing his life experiences from adolescence to adulthood. Therefore, a better understanding about how to realize self-values and how to explore a harmonious way to get along with others and the environment is achieved.
This paper consists of introduction, body part and the conclusion. Firstly, in the introduction, the general information about literature study of the novel and the structure of this research is provided. Secondly, the body part is divided into three chapters. Chapter one analyzes the reasons why the hero starts his self-exploration from two aspects: Huck’s growth environment and children’s psychology. Chapter two discusses the factors and conditions of self-discovery and self-shaping through the psychological impact during the adventures and the influence of the companion Jim. Chapter three explains the importance of self-autonomy in Huck’s growth process through the formation of world view and understanding of responsibility. Finally, the conclusion part summarizes the full paper and concludes the argument.

摘  要

《哈克贝利芬恩历险记》作为马克吐温的著作，描述了哈克和吉姆一起在密西西比河沿岸的历险经历。近年来，对该小说的研究主要集中在作品的语言特色，写作手法和技巧及小说的讽刺和幽默性。本文着眼于成长中自我的追求和塑造，分析哈克从青春期过渡到成年所体验的人生经历，从而更好地理解人们如何确定自我价值，探寻个人与身边人物及环境的和谐相处之道。
本文由引言、本论、结论三部分组成。首先，引言部分简要介绍作品的研究现状及本文的研究思路。其次，本论部分分为三章，第一章通过哈克的成长环境和儿童心理分析主人公开始自我探索的原因。第二章从主人公的心理历程及同伴吉姆对他造成的影响入手，探讨自我发现和塑造的因素及条件。第三章从世界观的形成和责任感的理解等方面，阐释自我塑造在主人公成长过程中的重要性。最后，在结论部分，概括全文并总结论点。
