本论文对小说《献给艾米丽的玫瑰花》进行了初步的研究，《献给艾米丽的玫瑰花》是美国著名作家威廉福克纳的短篇小说，以美国南北战争后的南方社会为背景，叙述了艾米丽小姐的悲剧人生，她承受着多种压迫，并最终孤独终老。本论文从女性主义视角分析小说主人公艾米丽的悲剧命运以及造成艾米丽悲剧命运的原因：社会环境，父权制度下的家长压迫和爱情观上的男女不平等。小说作者从小说的诸多细节描写向读者传达了信息，使读者更加深切地体会到艾米丽的悲惨命运，并且了解造成艾米丽悲剧命运的原因

Abstract:

This thesis makes a preliminary research on the novel A Rose for Emily. A Rose for Emily is a short novel of William Faulkner, a famous American writer. The background of the novel is the southern society after the American Civil War. It describes Miss Emily’s tragic life. She bears a variety of oppression and dead alone. The thesis analyzes the hero Emily’s tragic life and the reasons for her tragedy from the perspective of the feminism and these are social situation, the parents’ oppression under the patriarchal system and the imbalance of love view between man and woman. The writer of the novel conveys a lot of information to the reader through detail descriptions which help the reader deeply understands Emily’s tragic life and the reasons for Emily’s tragedy. The thesis will make a further analysis on these detail descriptions.5

1. Introduction
1.1 The Introduction of William Faulkner
 William Faulkner is considered one of the most influential writers in American literature history and the representative figure of stream of consciousness literature in the United States. His reputation is based on his novels, novellas and short stories. However, he was also a published poet and an occasional screenwriter. Most of Faulkner’s works are set in his native state of Mississippi, and he is considered one of the most important southern writers.
