摘要:
索尔•北娄(1915-2005)是继海明威和福克纳之后美国著名的文学大师。1976年,由于他“对当代文化富于人性的理解和分析”,获得诺贝尔文学奖。《赫索格》的出版铸造了索尔贝娄文学事业的里程碑。焦虑是一个不可避免的问题,值得人们研究,因为焦虑融合了对人性和人生的思考。由于索尔•贝娄复杂的文化身份以及文化信仰和财富发展的不平衡性,焦虑,作为一种复杂的情绪在索尔贝娄的作品中倍受关注。而《赫索格》又是知识分子抑郁,迷茫以及资产阶级人道主义危机的典型反应。本文作者将会从婚姻焦虑,身份焦虑和死亡焦虑展开论述,希望通过对《赫索格》中焦虑的分析来引起现代人对焦虑的思考。

Abstract:
Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is a celebrated master of literature in America after Hemingway and Faulkner. In 1976, Bellow won the Nobel Prize of literature, with the comment that his works combine the understanding of human and the delicate analysis of modern culture. Herzog’s publishing sets a milestone of Bellow’s career of writing. Anxiety is an inevitable problem, which is worth researching, for anxiety is the combination of meditation on humanity and life. As a result of Bellow’s complicate cultural identity and the unbalanced development of culture, belief and wealth, anxiety, as a sophisticated mood, attracts much attention in Bellow’s works. And typically, Herzog is a real reflection of intellectual’s depression, confusion and the crisis of bourgeois humanism. The present author will step into the analysis of anxiety in detail, including the anxiety about broken marriage, identity and death, hoping to raise modern people’s meditation on the anxiety through analyzing the anxiety in Herzog.

1. Introduction
Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is a celebrated master of literature in America after Hemingway and Faulkner. He had published eleven river novels and other works including prose and play script and so on. As is universally acknowledged Bellow is a Jewish-American writer, which has a great influence on his works. Most of his masterpieces are the epitome of mental suffering of modern people in working class, reflecting from other perspective the mental crisis of America in modern times when the development of economy runs as fast as a puma. In 1976, Bellow won the Nobel Prize of literature, with the comment that his works combine the understanding of human and the delicate analysis of modern culture. In general, Bellow is proficient in depicting the life and psychology of intellectuals in metropolis, exploring modern people’s mental crisis and the resolution, in order to revitalize the character’s inner world vividly in an easy and fluent style.
