《野性的呼唤》是杰克·伦敦在20世纪初的成名作，自然是他的创作主题之一。作者在该书中表达了对自然的热爱和尊敬，对工业文明的失望和批评。在《野性的呼唤》中，杰克·伦敦通过对人类自我主义，人与人之间残酷关系及工业文明的批判，表达了生态的关注和忧思杰。杰克·伦敦不仅提出了问题，还提出了理想的解决方案，呼吁人类承担对自然地责任，创造人与自然的理想关系，回归自然。只有这样，人与自然才能真正和谐共处。

Abstract

The Call of the Wild is one of Jack London’s masterpiece in the early 20th century . Nature is among his favorite writing themes. In The Call of the Wild, London expresses his love and respect for nature. Meanwhile, he is frustrated at the industrial civilization.  This paper will analyze The Call of the Wild from the perspective of ecology. In this novel, London criticizes human egoism, points out the cruel relationship among human-beings. Furthermore, he finds the side effects of industrial civilization from the perspective of ecology. By all of these, people can find London’s deep concern for nature as well as his ecological ideals. What’s more, London not only points out the problems in the novel, but also brings about some ideal solutions. He calls on people to shoulder their responsibility to nature, create an ideal relationship between human and nature. Finally ,he appeals people to return to nature. By doing all of these can people really live in harmony with nature.

1  Introduction
    Jack London was one of the famous realistic writers in America. He lived between the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century when realistic literature flourished. In his lifetime, he wrote about 50 works of art. Among them, several are excellent, including The Call of the Wild, The Sea Wolf, The White Fang as well as Martin Eden. What’s more, he created well-known short stories like Love of Life, An Odyssey of North . Jack London started his writing from the age of 24, but he died at the early age of 40. Altogether, he created 19 full-length novels, 150 short stories and many essays and proses. The Call of the Wild is one of London’s most popular novels. It helped London gain his nationwide fame when the novel was published. Critic Maxuell Geisnar had clarified The Call of the Wild as a beautiful prose poem.
