Abstract:

From a historical point of view, the process of human development is not smooth. Even in the relatively peace in the contemporary, the smokeless war still exist. Either the East or the Westerners, people yearn for the "Shangrila" life because of the turbulent economic and political situation, even the worse and worse living environment. However, different people have different understanding of the "Shangrila", especially Chinese and Westerners which have different history and culture. With the intensification of globalization, the western culture and Eastern culture should understand and respect each other. Strengthen cooperation and exchanges with each other due to come true Win-win results for both sides.
The point of penetration of this study is “Shangrila” based on Lost Horizon by Hilton in Westerners and A Note on the Peach Blossom Yard by Yuanming Tao in China. Make comparison and analysis of the samilarities and the differences of "Shangrila" from both eyes in the East and Westerners. Firstly, the concept was explained by this study. Secondly, the characters of "Shangrila" were induced severally by Lost Horizon and A Note on the Peach Blossom Yard. Thirdly, the samilarities and the different characters of "Shangrila" were compared, based on Lost Horizon and A Note on the Peach Blossom Yard. Finally, the theme is forwarded that people from the western culture and Eastern culture should understand and respect each other. Moreover, it proposes the importance of being harmonious between human beings and nature.

人类在历史发展的长河中并不是一帆风顺的，即使是在相对“和平”的当代，无硝烟的战争依然时刻存在。无论是东方还是西方，因为战争和让人失望的政治格局都时刻唤起着人们对“理想国”的向往。虽然那里的人们都幸福的过着无忧无虑的生活，但是不同的人对理想国的理解不同，尤其是中西方人。随着全球化的加剧，中西方文化更应该相互尊重、理解，加强交流达到双赢结局。
本课题以“理想国”为切入点，基于希尔顿的《消失的地平线》和陶渊明的《桃花源记》，比较解析中西方人眼中的“理想国”并探讨其中所存在的异同。首先，本课题简单介绍了“理想国”的概念。其次，本课题分别解析《消失的地平线》和《桃花源记》这两部作品中“理想国”的特点。再者，通过这两部作品，分析中西方人对“理想国”理解的异同。最后，就中西方文化间存在的差异提出相互尊重理解、加强交流达到双赢结局。另外，提出人与自然和谐相处的重要性。

Introduction
People usually observe that today’s human life is stable and peaceful, because there are no wars, no exploit and we are living under the protection of the laws. However, the life we live is in real peace? Many people show their worries about it. From a historical point of view, the process of human development is not smooth. Even in the relatively "peace" in the contemporary society, the smokeless wars still exist. Either in the East or the Westerners, people yearn for the "Shangrila" life because of the turbulent economic and political situation, even the worse and worse living environment. In the eyes of Chinese and Westerners, people who live in the "Shangrila" are happy and free but there are many different understandings between Chinese and Westerners.
