Abstract:
This paper is to analyze the awareness of resistance from the colonized African native people with the theories of postcolonialism. First of all, according to these postcolonial theories, the author explains the black native were treated as the “other” in their own land, stating out they were faced with the colonial oppression from every aspect especially in the economic, politic and cultural aspects. Then, the author vividly explains Moses’ resistant awareness and actions as a special preventative for the brave black native. Moses was always trying to get rid of the position of the “other” destined by the white. All his actions and results will prove it was real and hopeful for the black native to fight against the oppression and to get rid of the “other” in their land. What’s more, Moses was also influencing the white to realize the potential strength and good characteristics of the black native. What Moses did encouraged the African people and shocked the white people as well, indicating the coming of emancipation in Africa. Therefore, it was a song of hope and self from Moses, alone but aloud in the South Africa.

1. Introduction
Doris Lessing is one of the most important British writers in the 20th century, who was awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature, described by the Swedish Academy as “that epicist of the female experience, who with scepticism, fire and visionary power has subjected a divided civilisation to scrutiny”. Her early living experience in the colonized land contributed a lot to her writing materials and themes which were mainly about racial discrimination and the poor natives.
