摘要：

本论文从空间叙事学角度浅析同名小说与电影的叙事风格，并探究空间叙事的运用在小说和电影中的效果。论文以美国作家卡勒德.胡塞尼的作品《追风筝的人》的小说文本和电影为例，通过举例分析和对比分析，例举空间叙事学在小说和电影具体场景中的不同呈现，利用空间叙事学理论对风景、空间等场景展开分析。并且通过阐述小说和电影展现同一场景所运用的不同叙事手法，进而讨论空间叙事的意义，总结其在小说与电影中所达到的共同效果。

Abstract:

This thesis makes a brief analysis about the narrative styles of both the fiction and film from the perspective of spatial narrative. And it explores the effects of the application of the spatial narrative in the fiction and film. By taking an example of The Kite Runner, a work of an American writer Khaled Hosseini, this paper lists the different embodiment of the spatial narrative in the specified scenes in fiction and film of The Kite Runner. With exemplifying and comparative approach, this thesis unfolds the scenes of landscapes and spaces under the spatial narrative theory. Meanwhile, it also interprets the different narrative methods used in the same scenes of this fiction and film and discusses the meaning of spatial narrative. In the end, it sums the common effects by using spatial narrative.

1. Introduction
  1.1 The introduction to Khaled Hosseini
Khaled Hosseini (1965-) is an Afghan-born American novelist and physician. After graduating from college, he worked as a doctor in California, an occupation that he likened to" an arranged marriage". He has published three novels concluding The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and And the Mountains Echoed, most notably his 2003 debut The Kite Runner, all of which are at least partially set in Afghanistan and feature an Afghan as the protagonist. Following the success of The Kite Runner he retired from medicine to write full-time. All these three novels become bestsellers.
  1.2 The introduction to The Kite Runner
In 2003, Hosseini released his first novel, The Kite Runner, the story of a young boy, Amir, struggling to establish a closer rapport with his father and coping with memories of a haunting childhood event. It is also a story about the friendship between Amir, the little master, and Hassan, the servant, they are at the same age and grow together as friends. Hassan has said to Amir “For you, a thousand times over”. But Amir has never regarded Hassan as his true friend. Amir has always teased Hassan secretly for Hassan is an illiterate boy. Amir is a recreant boy when he is young while Hassan is a brave and genuine servant. The mental unbalance in Amir’s mind makes him calumniates Hassan’s family which leads them leaving behind in a remote land. And after the outbreak of the Afghan war, the Amir are forced to fled to the United State. His father’s partner knows the details of the truth that Hassan is his half-brother, and he persuades Amir to find Hassan’s child to redeem for his evil behavior and to calm down his guilty feeling before his death. Many years later, Amir has regretted for his behavior and has decided to be good again. Therefore he is on the way of redemption.
