摘要：

美国文学中的少数族裔、女性文学是一个长盛不衰的文学热点。本研究选取美国著名女性小说家谭恩美的代表作《喜福会》，阐述三代美国华人女性的情感生活及个性成长的历程。小说《喜福会》所讲述的是四位华人移民母亲和她们在美国长大的女儿之间的故事。借父母与子女的关系来隐喻中西方两种文化的碰撞，并且在中美文化传统的大背景下，使小说更具有文化内涵。本文试图对小说中母女所表现的沉默和爆发进行分析，探究两代女性之间自我意识的觉醒。她们在最初时都选择沉默，丧失了女性的尊严，到最后意识到要学会为自己的命运争取，找到自我的价值。通过此次分析，旨在加深读者对女性主义意识的认识。

Abstract:

Female literature is an enduring hot literature in American literature. This study selected the famous American female novelist Amy Tan’ s masterpiece The Joy Luck Club, which expounds three generations of the Chinese American women' s emotional life and personal growth. It is a story about four Chinese immigrant mothers and daughters who grew up in America. Through the relationship between parents and daughters, the collision of two cultures, western and eastern, is deeply showed. And just  in the big context of the traditional culture of China and America, this novel contains more cultural connotation. By analyzing the silence showed on mother and daughter, this paper attempts to explore the awakening of female identity between two generations. They initially choose to be silent, lose the dignity of women, and finally realize that they should learn to fight for their own destiny, find the self value. The author aims to deepen readers understanding of feminist consciousness from a specific analysis.
