摘要：

《夜骑士》是美国著名南方作家罗伯特·潘恩·沃伦的第一部长篇小说，发表于1939年。该作品主要讲述了发生在美国肯塔基州的烟草战争，深刻地揭露了当时社会的弊端和无序状态，同时也揭示了内战后人们对自身和社会的重新审视。本论文主要从历史意识，社会阶层意识，和宗教传统三个方面对《夜骑士》的内容进行分析，进而探讨美国文学中的南方性问题。小说中独特的叙事艺术也为对小说《夜骑士》的内容以及其中人物的理解提供了全新的视角。

Abstract:

Night Rider is the first novel written by Robert Penn Warren, who is one of the well-known southern writers, and it was published in 1939. This novel mainly displays a tobacco conflict took place in Kentucky, America, discloses social diseases and disordered condition, and reveals that people reconsider about themselves and society after the American civil war. This thesis analyzes Night Rider mainly from three aspects — historical consciousness, social status consciousness and religious tradition, further more, it studies American southness existed in American literature. Besides, the
special part of the narrative art of Night Rider provides a new perspective for the    study of American southness existed in Night Rider, and also for the content and the characters in this novel.
