玛丽·雪莱的《弗兰肯斯坦》自出版以来便收到了极大的关注，关于这部作品的评论和研究一直从未停止。关于《弗兰肯斯坦》的评论和研究主要集中于弗兰肯斯坦创造生命的隐喻和小说所体现的生态主义精神。本论文将从神话原型理论的角度分析普罗米修斯精神在《弗兰肯斯坦》中的体现。首先，论文将利用神话原型理论对普罗米修斯精神进行分析，并进一步分析普罗米修斯精神在西方文化中的影响。其次，论文将通过对小说中弗兰肯斯坦所表现出的人格、经历分析，探究其在小说中所表现出的性格特点和其指代意义。最后通过对比分析的方式将普罗米修斯精神和弗兰肯斯坦所表现出的性格进行对比，以期得出普罗米修斯精神在《弗兰肯斯坦》中的体现。

Abstract:

Mary Shelly’s work Frankenstein has received great attention since its first publication. Criticisms and studies on this work have never stopped. The criticisms and studies on Frankenstein mainly concentrate on the metaphor of Frankenstein’s creating life and the environmentalism showed in this novel. This thesis will discuss how the spirit of Prometheus is reflected in Frankenstein in the perspective of myth and archetype criticism. First, this thesis will analyze the spirit of Prometheus in the perspective of myth and archetype criticism and further discuss the influences the spirit of Prometheus had in western culture. Then this thesis will analyze the personalities and experiences of Frankenstein showed in this novel, and explore what his personalities and experiences may imply. In the end, through the comparative analysis between the spirit of Prometheus and Frankenstein’s personalities, this thesis will find out how the spirit of Prometheus is reflected in Frankenstein.
